Bathroom Renovations begin

Josh's Dad is on his way to Calgary, despite weather warnings everywhere. He is driving a truck full of tools. Once he arrives we will gut our bathroom and redo it (we being they). My job is to take care of Finn and make sure he doesn't step on nails, inhale chemicals, etc..
So maybe when they start I'll take a before picture of the shower. I can say that our shower is the worst I've ever experienced. Basically you have 15 minutes of a scalding hot dribble, before it turns cold. All the hot comes out the bottom onto your feet. It's painful.

We are done moving (as of Nov 1), Telus is taking an amazingly long time to hook up our internet. Telus service is hopeless! We start over every time we call. I really wanted to put on Finn's Halloween pictures, they are so cute. Anyway, we are all going to BC for Christmas so maybe I'll get some pictures to post out of that.

Bahama-mamas

We're back from Bahamas! Land of sun, sand and surf, and little fishes to see while snorkeling too.
What a great trip! We weren't sure what to expect but it was very relaxing. The all-inclusive part was super, I think we all gained some weight, it's hard to say no to such a great spread, desserts especially.
The wedding was lovely, as the pictures show. Finn was the ring bearer and ran up with his red ring boxes. Later we saw other weddings and it was fun to compare them, ours was definitely the best! The other brides went way overboard with their dresses and were obviously over heating in them. Some of the grooms even had tuxes, crazy! in +35 weather.
Josh and I went snorkeling on a 3 hour cruise, very fun.

Back to cold weather Calgary! boo.

Pictures from July 07

We are going to the Bahamas! at the end of August, it will be expensive but a new experience, we've never stayed at a resort before. I was thinking maybe Finn will go to bed earlier when we get back! because he'll be adjusted to 3 hours ahead.

Sadly we will miss Mom & Dad's 45th wedding anniversary, everyone is going out to Lake Louise, they will stay in the Chateau and are going to get a good deal through Sooz and Doug.

Back from sunny Penticton!

Hi,
We are back in town after a great vacation!
It was so sunny and warm there. We went swimming once or twice a day in Okanagan Lake, which is warm enough. I got a bad case of swimmers itch after about 4 days of swimming. I kept going in though and would run out and go shower under the hose. Also I tried to stay out of the shallows. We got a video of Finn in his little paddle 'airplane'. I'll try and post it somewhere.
I'll probably put the pictures on Facebook. Too many online spots!
Josh and I got out one night to the Hillside Winery and had a 3 hour dinner on the patio. Afterwards we walked the hour home to Sandy&Paddy's house, along the old KVR railway which overlooks the lake and winds through vinyards. That was really a highlight of the vacation.
Lowlight was probably Finn's sleeping habits! he was going to bed at 10pm so now he is totally screwed up. He won't tolerate his crib at all anymore and wants both parents to lie down with him till he falls asleep (sometimes hour later). It is a pain!!! We are flummoxed on what to do.
Cry it out or continue the lieing down with him..
Hopefully it is a phase.
Another piece of news: Josh's sister is pregnant and getting married! She is having a whilwind wedding on Sept long weekend in the Bahama's. This may affect our trip to the coast :(

Thanks Sandy and Paddy for the great stay! I'm sure Finn will have memories of your wonderful garden and hospitality.

Finn & Ronan have a birthday party!

Finn and Ronan had a big birthday party at my sisters house (Fiona) out in Bragg Creek. Unfortunately we forgot the camera and Fiona has dial-up out there so no pictures yet.

Finn had 3 mosquito bites under his eye so he looked like he had a black eye, it was all puffy.
We also had a pinata for the kids, Liam loved that, he was jumping up and down waiting for his turn to hit the thing. It actually was kind of violent! Those crazy mexicans!

I had practised getting him to 'blow' for the candles but he just leaned over and looked at them when the moment came.

So now Finn has a bunch of great presents to keep him (and us) busy. He still plays with cars mostly but has branched out to trains too. Lucky he got some videos for the car ride to Penticton.

Trip to Heritage Park and the Zoo

Finn and I (Cath) went to Heritage Park with Kathy and Will. Finn didn't like the rides much but had fun throwing grass at Will (grass fight!). He also like the animals. The sheep was too noisy for him, it baaa'ed really loudly and he jumped a mile.

Then we went to the zoo on Sunday while Josh, Mom and Jen painted the deck.

He had his first major tantrum this week too. Screaming for 20 mins, it was awful!!! What are you supposed to do about that? We just ignored him for a while and then tried distraction, which worked. Maybe he was just tired though.

Childrens Festival

Finn's trip to the childrens festival was filled with smiles and tears. Smiles for the outside entertainer and tears for the inside concert. Finn and Elsa looking awefome in their space visors. Marina's looking pretty cool in her festival hat as well.
